Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! has to be one of the greatest games ever made. However, it is one of the few games that I've never actually beat. I can get up to Mr. Sandman, but never really made it past him. Geoff has told me that he has actually made it to Mike Tyson, but has never beat him. I have a save state on my computer that lets me skip straight to the fight with Mike Tyson. However, like Geoff, I can never beat him. I can get to the second round and maybe knock him down once or twice, but I can never finish him off. In desperation, I found some videos on Youtube that may prove useful. The first of these videos comes from somebody who obviously plays the game too much, because he takes care of Tyson with ease. He uses a technique which I have learned to be called "Late Punches," where you wait till the last possible second to punch an opponent and they take double damage. I have found this to be a difficult technique to employ, but I have pulled it off several times, or it could be just that Tyson actually took that much damage from that punch. It also looks like the person is cheating a bit, but I can't really do anything to prove that other than use visual observations. The second video comes from someone who is more of our caliber. He goes to the second round with Tyson, but eventually gets him in the end. I think we should use the wisdom granted to us by these videos and take down Tyson. I say that one day we should gather somewhere and play until we beat Tyson, or until we get frustrated. What have you to say about that?
My first video post!!! Unfortunately, I could not get both videos to center, so I am going to have to ask Geoff for some assistance on that part. I was able to get the second one to center, but I didn't want the post to look fucked up with one post being centered and the other not. Enjoy, my friends.

Hey Kev. I took a look, and I see what you mean with the one centering and the other one not. Don't ask me why, but you have to add the center tags separately around each video. I've done just that, look at the post in edit mode and you'll see what I mean.
Now... I think your idea is a GREAT idea. Sandman is also my nemesis. I don't have much problem until him, then it's all downhill. I have beaten him, but it seems nearly imposable. In fact, if I remember right, I actually think he's harder than the guy after him. I would be totally down for a punchout marathon. Bravo for Kev. Excellent post and idea.

Also, I agree the first video seems somehow fixed... and the second one seems like a real fight.
