Silent Hill: Homecoming
So after this year's E3, a lot of new footage and gameplay demos came out for SH5. Most of what I have seen has been based more on the exploration and graphical prowess of the game, and not so much on the new combat system (which is my primary concern with the game as you know, as it defeats one of the core elements of the games that we love.) However, I did see in- game footage of a conversation that led right into a boss fight, that looked like something straight out of SH 2 or 3. I have to say it was a comfort to see that the Collective is trying to stay true to the spirit of the older games, especially 2, hailed by many as the best of the series. Also, the conversations actually have decision trees, very similar to a lot of main stream RPGs, so every conversation can have an effect on the plot, thus providing multiple means to reach one of several endings. In any case, I am getting excited about this one.

I've seen some pretty cool looking videos for SH5, and it looks like it won't be all that different from the rest of the series. I haven't really seen too much about the combat system, but I've always hated the shitty ways the characters fight in the other SH games with the exception of James in SH2 when he could walk and swing a weapon at the same time. Either way, I'm looking forward to this release as well. If only one of us had a next-gen console...

One of us does. The Revolution is next gen... hahahahaha. Anyway, I think I am going to use some of my income tax refund this year to get a 360, we'll see.

I don't really consider the Revolution a next gen, the graphics aren't really that much greater than the second gens. Also, they may soon be banned in America.

Really? How do you mean?

Somehow every aspect of the controller violates copyrights owned by another company, yet somehow the 360 and PS3 controllers remain safe. I had read an article from digg.com not that long ago that had all the technical information. I skimmed the article, so I may have missed some pertinent information. I may get a PS3 fairly soon, we'll see.

Sweet. As I understand it, the company that created the vibration function in last gen controllers sued Microsoft and Sony. Microsoft settled right away, buying a chink of the company at the same time, but Sony held out and fought the case. Sony lost, and are appealing last I heard. Nintendo didn't get pegged I suppose.

That looks fucking awesome.
Also, not that I would ever tall any of you when my birthday is... but it releases on my birthday, how cool is that?
Lastly, what's up with 360 vs ps3? I hate sony, but it appears there's been no serious winner... anyone know the sales stats?
